Performant terminals are based on Windows® CE, Windows® XP Embedded and the Linux operating system and allow access to server-based applications and data via Microsoft® RDP and Citrix® ICA protocols.
Due to the integration of Brainworks GmbH's virtual channel drivers, the user is now able to record voice and edit dictations with USB dictation devices and USB foot pedals in a Citrix session directly on each given terminal of the thin client network. Dictation and play-back of dictations are done with the ProDictate dictation software directly.
If the ProDictate drivers are already installed on the terminals of the thin client network, all the users have to do is to connect the needed USB devices. Then they can start working right away. The virtual channel drivers ensure the direct forwarding of data to the channels of the main server's ICA or RPD sessions via TCP/IP. At pressing the digital dictation device's control keys, the transmitted informations are sent directly to the server and then forwarded to the ProDictate software for operation of the multimedia recorder.
